- After the surgery the tampons inside the nose can remain 2 days-1 week according to their qualification. Do not attempt to remove them yourself.
- As long as the tampon stays, the leak coming from the front side of the nose and the nasal passage is normal, it may increase during eating and movement. This leak is not important as long as it does not turn into bleeding.
- Since the nostrils will be closed, you have to breathe from your mouth. Related with that, there may be dryness in lips, mouth and throat, air hunger, sneezing feeling and headache.
- In relation with the tampon, there may be burning in nose and sneezing.
- When lying down, you should lie down in upright position as possible. Number of pillows can be increased, in case of excess bleeding, ice application on nose can be made.
- Ice application is made on the first day and until noon the next day, it is applied for 15-20 minutes every half an hour. For the bandages not to get wet, the ice is put in pouches and napkin, gauze bandage or muslin is put under it .
- Food that requires a lot of chewing and hot foods should be avoided, plenty of fluid should be taken and soft foodstuffs should be preferred.
- Since aspirin, smoking and alcohol will pose bleeding risk after the surgery, they should not be used for at least 1 week.
- The drugs should be used regularly. Bepanthen cream should be applied.
- The solutions given after the tampons are removed should be used regularly. Obstruction may occur until the nose heals completely.
- For at least a period of 1 month after the surgery you should not blow your nose hardly and should avoid impacts coming from outside.
