Rhinoplasty is made in two types being open and closed technique and in both techniques reducing procedure is applied on the nasal bone, often classic rasping or powered instrumentation are used. The bones are thinned by cutting from the sides and its new form is given to the nose.

In the formerly applied procedures the patient’s tissues were excessively traumatized, the duration of the operations were long and this resulted in increase of bruising.

Bruise can be defined as the change of color from red to damson purple that accompanies the swelling on the skin of the nose or surrounding the eyes. In the method that we apply, minimum trauma is applied on the skin and muscles of the nose by using very fine instruments and by working in the subperiosteal perichondrial plane. During the operation continuous compression and cooling procedure is done. To shorten the duration of the operation, blood-free area is provided by special anesthesia drugs. The pre-planned applications are put into practice. At the end of the operation, cannulated silicone that enables the blood that may accumulate inside the nose to be discharged is used and the special drugs that we use postoperatively reduce the bleeding.

Besides the operation technique, ice application applied correctly every half hour throughout 24 hours is also very important.

In Nomor technique, zero bruising cannot be guaranteed. However, this technique minimizes and most of the time prevents the bruises that may occur.

Occurrence of obstructions in the nose is normal after the surgery until complete recovery is achieved. After the mold is removed, the nasal tip may come out to be more swollen compared to the other regions of the nose. It may take longer for the tip swelling to go down compared to the other regions of the nose.

Aftre rhinoplasty, the nose to take its complete shape may last 6 months to 1 year. However, in general the nose is completed in form after the 6th month. After the mold is removed you need to protect your nose against impacts. Generally, eyeglasses can be used after 20 days under doctor’s supervision.

You can start sports after 1 month (you need to consult your doctor).Unless your doctor advises, do not massage or hang on with your nose downwards. You may always do your activities upwards.

• After the surgery the tampons inside the nose can remain 2 days-1 week according to their qualification. Do not attempt to remove them yourself.
• As long as the tampon stays, the leak coming from the front side of the nose and the nasal passage is normal, it may increase during eating and movement. This leak is not important as long as it does not turn into bleeding.
• Since the nostrils will be closed, you have to breathe from your mouth. Related with that, there may be dryness in lips, mouth and throat, air hunger, sneezing feeling and headache.
• In relation with the tampon, there may be burning in nose and sneezing.
• When lying down, you should lie down in upright position as possible. Number of pillows can be increased, in case of excess bleeding, ice application on nose can be made.
• Ice application is made on the first day and until noon the next day, it is applied for 15-20 minutes every half hour. For the bandages not to get wet, the ice is put in pouches and napkin, gauze bandage or muslin is put under it .
• Food that requires a lot of chewing and hot foods should be avoided, plenty of fluid should be taken and soft foodstuffs should be preferred.
• Since aspirin, smoking and alcohol will pose bleeding risk after the surgery, they should not be used for at least 1 week.
• The drugs should be used regularly. Bepanthen cream should be applied.
• The solutions given after the tampons are removed should be used regularly. Obstruction may occur until the nose heals completely.
• For at least a period of 1 month after the surgery you should not  blow your nose hardly and should avoid impacts coming from outside.
